How
A Karaoke Party Works: During
your event, guests are provided with
Karaoke Song Books, Request Slips
and pens. They are encouraged to
browse the list of songs and write
the song title and their name on
the slip then turn it in to the KJ.
When their turn comes up, the KJ
introduces them and invites them
to the microphone. The music is started
and the song lyrics are displayed
on color monitors located at the
front of the stage. These are positioned
so that they are easy for the singer
to see but won't block the audience’s
view. When the song is over the KJ
encourages the audience to applause/support
the singer then sets up the next
song/singer.
Throughout the entire party the KJ will
be there to host the Event, to help and
encourage the singers and to make sure
that the volume, pitch and key of any
song is properly adjusted to a level
that's comfortable for you and your guests.
And at any point in time the KJ can switch
back to DJ mode and play regular dance
and party music from our extensive library
of non-Karaoke songs.
Karaoke
Explained: (pronounced care – a – o –
key) Karaoke is actually an abbreviated
compound Japanese word originating from "karappo" meaning “empty”
and "okesutura" meaning “orchestra”
- combined to get (approximately) “wordless
music.”
Though the term actually describes music
without a vocal track, it is more commonly
used to refer to the act of singing along
to such music, usually in a public or
semi-public location. Basically, Karaoke
is what you get when you take the music
from popular songs and strip out the
lead vocals, thereby allowing people
to sing along to their favorite songs
without having to compete with the original
singer.
Wanna-Be
Stars pick their music from a playlist
of specially prepared Karaoke songs and
submit their choices to the KJ. When
it's their turn to sing, the KJ introduces
them and starts their music. They are
able to read the lyrics off of an animated
video screen that changes as the song
progresses, and sing into a microphone
connected to an audio mixer. The KJ uses
the mixer to combine their voice together
in real time with the background music
track, delivering it to the audience
like a live performance. Add lighting
and effects and a Star is born!
Of course, to many people (and in quite
a few cases) Karaoke is often referred
to as a strange ritualistic musical
expression that involves a perturbed
howling in a semi-rhythmic fashion
to no apparent tempo into a microphone,
traditionally inspiring laughter and
folly amongst a tribal community of
inebriated Homo sapiens.
Whatever
the case may be, you can bet that nothing
livens up a party more than adding
Karaoke!
